Our services include welcoming and settling in support, career and personal development for partners and many other aspects of living in one of our locations.
Outpost Aberdeen aims to help you settle into your new location. We can offer you advice on: suitable housing locations, the range of schooling available, health services, employment and study opportunities for your partner, leisure activities, shopping facilities and any other matter that is important to you. All inquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence. And last but certainly not least, we aim to be a friendly voice at the end of the phone should you need our assistance.
We encourage contact prior to arrival to provide important location information and to inform how to prepare for your move. Outpost is available to answer any questions you may have prior to your arrival and will connect you with people in our community to share their experience regarding schooling, living area’s in Aberdeen or any other topic of relevance.
If we know your arrival date and where you will be staying, a welcome folder will be delivered to your temporary accommodation. Partners will be invited to meet with the Outpost Team and share information on settling into Aberdeen. We offer a settling in session; we can plan a Lync call for you and or your partner once arrived, if so wished, to be able to answer any further questions you may have. We offer one-to-one help with any aspect of settling in to your new location, from how to start the job search (whether paid or voluntary) through to what is a good area to live in, and everything in between.
Outpost Aberdeen keeps the community informed on topics of interest related to global mobility and up to date with local information on what’s on. We publish our Outpost quarterly newsletter and have a Career and Development guide and Children’s guide available. Every week we organize network mornings for partners where you can meet others in a relaxed and friendly environment at Woodbank. We organize events and talks on topics of interest and host social sessions. We offer to connect people in the community, for example team-up partners with young children and or if you are looking for partner in a sport of your preference.
When time comes to leave, Outpost Aberdeen can assist you with information about your new location, get you in touch with our team in your new location and can assist you with a leaving checklist to help you to organize your move out of Aberdeen.
